Real socialism from different perspectives
One-day program for a group of at least 20 and at most 50 people.
In the years 1948–1989, life and development in our country was different than it is today. Within the one-day program, we will introduce you to the unseen and reveal the unheard.
The program is designed as a sightseeing tour (with a clerk) of what were ‘model destinations’ during the totalitarian regime, on the contrary, completely inaccessible destinations. It is also possible to use a coach (luxury RTO bus from the 1960s). Seats on the coach are limited to 35. There are two buses available.
Program:
- Excursion around the town of Písek with an emphasis on the changes after 1948, when the ground plan of the medieval town changed into a modern town complex (fortunately there was not enough money for its entire realization).
- Excursion to the JITEX factory – a model textile factory; one of the few factories in the world to make products from purely artificial knitwear (unfortunately, this experiment went on for far too long and the company made no innovations).
- Lunch at a 1970’s restaurant. Time has stopped here, but the food is great!
- Transfer to the Vojna memorial forced labour camp — a camp for unwanted citizens and dissidents. During the communist regime, if you did something wrong and someone said you were going to the uranium mine, it was clear what kind of ordeal was ahead of you.
- Excursion to the Hotel Orlík in the recreational resort Vystrkov, which did not exist on maps until 1995. It was a government hotel for totalitarian leaders.
The price depends on the number of people and the details discussed during a personal / phone consultation.
