The J. K. Tyl Theatre was built in 1833. Josef Kajetán Tyl visited Třeboň twice – in 1852 and 1856. The theatre’s decoration includes a curtain of artistic value – it portrays an allegorical scene of Apollo and his cohort’s arrival in the town (by the academic painter František Skála from Písek.
